This process shows where the translation tool is wrong. Then I try to guess whether the translation is right or not. If I can't guess, I Google the result and see how many people are using the phrase that I have my doubts about. == Once in the 1990s==
I tried to explain the feeling of frustration to my Russian friends for half an hour but all in vain. There was a full bottle of vodka and an empty glass on the table in front of us so I asked my friend’s husband to empty the whole bottle into the small glass. He told me that he was not able to do it as the glass was too little. I explained to him that this was not the point. The point was that he must want to empty the bottle into the glass; then, the mere fact that he was not able to do it, would give him that feeling of frustration. All of my friends were amazed. They told me that they could not even begin to start thinking in this English way.

==Back in the 1960s==
The Pentagon claimed that they had succeeded in designing a translation program. They invited Richard Nixon, to give it a try. His wife phoned while he was there and he used the phrase "Out of sight, out of mind" as a test phrase to translate into Russian, and then the result was translated back into English. The result was "Invisible maniac." I am not sure that the story is completely true, but that is what I heard.
