Russian transformative case

Russian transformative case is a special form of nouns used to denote becoming someone, turning into something, moving into some state, position, changing into something. Russians most often use a form of the nominative plural instead of transformative case. There are many verbs which are commonly used with this case:

• выбиться в люди
• готовиться в космонавты
• проситься в ученики
• метить на начальника
• принять в учителя
• выбрать в передовики
• пойти в учителя
• баллотироваться в президенты
