День 19 из 32: У меня́ пропа́л но́сик!
📚 Слова́ дня · Words of the day: 3 – пропа́л (пропа́ла, пропа́ли), очки́, ключ.
🗣️ Say it as one piece: «У меня́ пропа́л но́сик!» – «А вот и но́сик появи́лся! Тра-ля-ля́!» · «Очко́в нет!»
⏱ Part 1 = 15 minutes – everybody finishes it. Part 2 = more, only if you want. · 🗺️ All days
Your homework from День 18. Thumb back 👈: «Вчера́ я был(а́) до́ма.» 🏠
You know it – that is your first win today. Today things disappear – and come back. 🪄
- Don't read anything yet. Play the game with Natasha: cover your nose – show it again! What has Richard lost? Where are his glasses? 👂
- Listen: пропа́л но́сик – пропа́ла су́мка – пропа́ли очки́. The ends of День 17!
Say every word aloud and show it – the gesture is under the picture. Tap a word or its picture – the dictionary opens. 🔊 = listen.
- пропа́л – gone, lost: hands open, a surprised face 😱 · появи́лся – it's back: «тра-ля-ля́!» 🎉
- но́сик – a little nose (нос + -ик, like ша́рик from шар).
- очки́ – always many (two glasses!): «Очко́в нет!» – the «нет» for many, like огурцо́в. 🤓
👂 Listen first. Hands open 😱 on «пропа́л», tra-la-la 🎉 on «появи́лся».
- Ната́ша: Ой! У меня́ пропа́л мой но́сик! 😱 – А вот и но́сик появи́лся! Тра-ля-ля́! 🎉
- Ри́чард: У меня́ пропа́ли очки́! Очко́в нет! – Ната́ша: Ри́чард, вот они́ – на голове́! 🤓
- Ната́ша: А где моя́ су́мка? У меня́ пропа́ла су́мка! –
Сли́нки (sitting in the bag): Мя́у! 😄
- Ната́ша: А вот и су́мка! И Сли́нки появи́лась!
Ска́ффлз (a fish tail behind her): У меня́ пропа́л ры́ба!
- Ната́ша: Нет, Ска́ффлз! Ры́ба – она́. Пропа́ла ры́ба. А кто её съел? – Ска́ффлз: Р-р-р… Пропа́ла ры́ба. 😾
🌱 The seed of the day: the end of пропа́л follows the thing that is gone, not you. Су́мка (she) – пропа́ла; очки́ (many) – пропа́ли; ключ (he) – пропа́л.
Say every line aloud, with the hands 😱🎉.
У меня́ пропа́л но́сик! 😱 – А вот и но́сик появи́лся! Тра-ля-ля́! 🎉
У меня́ пропа́ла су́мка. 👜
У меня́ пропа́ли очки́. Очко́в нет! 🤓
У меня́ пропа́л ключ. Ключе́й нет! 🔑
А вот и они́! Тра-ля-ля́!
- Play Natasha's game – with a child, a friend or the mirror: cover your nose – «У меня́ пропа́л но́сик!» – show it – «А вот и но́сик появи́лся!» 🎉
- Hide your glasses or keys in the bag: «У меня́ пропа́ли очки́!» – find them: «А вот и очки́!»
- Ask someone: «У тебя́ что-то пропа́ло?»
- Speaking is optional – listening and doing count too.
Can you say it without looking? – Молоде́ц! Go to the tap quiz.
Guess, then tap. Look at the thing that is gone – it decides the end. A wrong tap is a guess. 😊
Хорошо́! Молоде́ц! Two small things left – two minutes.
появи́лся is written with -ся, but at the end of a past it sounds like «-са»: «появи́лса».
- Don't say «-ся» with a big я – just a short, light са.
- And тра-ля-ля́: the л before я is soft – smile 🙂: ля-ля-ля́!
- Пропа́л – появи́лся – тра-ля-ля́! 30 seconds, every day – and play the game.
Tomorrow, play the nose game once more: «У меня́ пропа́л но́сик!» 😱 – «А вот и но́сик появи́лся! Тра-ля-ля́!» 🎉
That is the first minute of День 20. You already know it – so День 20 starts with a win.
- The nose game – the whole face. Cover your eyes: «У меня́ пропа́ли глаза́!» – show them: «А вот и глаза́ появи́лись!» Then у́ши, рот, ру́ки. 🙈
- The bag game. Somebody hides a thing in the bag. Everybody says what is gone: «Пропа́ли очки́!» «Пропа́л ключ!» «Пропа́ла кни́га!» – then it comes out: «А вот и…!» 🎉
- Нет! Turn out your pockets: «Ключе́й нет! Очко́в нет! Де́нег нет!» 😄 (Richard's favourite from День 7.)
My little nose is gone! – the whole game with Natasha, then the things in the bags of Natasha, Richard and Maya: what is gone, what is there?
Today's game – play it with the video. Tap the title – the page opens; the bar at its top brings you back here.
What we have, we don't look after; when it is lost, we cry.
You only know what you had when it is gone – like the glasses, the keys… and the fish. 🐟 🤸 Gesture: hold something in your hands on «что име́ем», drop it carelessly on «не храни́м», wipe a tear on «пла́чем». 😢
Read every line aloud, slowly. Every word is one you know. Tap a word to check. ✋
🙌 Today's words: ПРОПА́Л · ПРОПА́ЛА · ПРОПА́ЛИ · ОЧКИ́ · КЛЮЧ · ПОЯВИ́ЛСЯ
У Ната́ши пропа́л но́сик. А вот и но́сик!
У Ри́чарда пропа́ли очки́. Они́ на голове́! 🤓
У Ната́ши пропа́ла су́мка. В су́мке – Сли́нки! 😄
У Ска́ффлз пропа́ла ры́ба. Кто её съел? 🐟
нос → но́сик – a little nose · -ик makes things little and sweet: шар → ша́рик, дом → до́мик, кот → ко́тик 🐈
Just look and smile – you don't have to learn these now. 😊
Oh! My little nose is gone! And here is the little nose again! Tra-la-la! – My glasses are gone! No glasses! – Richard, here they are – on your head! – And where is my bag? My bag is gone! – Miaow! – And here is the bag! And Slinky has turned up too! – My fish is gone (a man's form)! (Scuffles's mistake) – No, Scuffles! Fish is a «she». The fish is gone. And who ate it? – Grrr… The fish is gone.
- У меня́ пропа́л / пропа́ла / пропа́ли … – the end follows the thing:
- ключ, но́сик (он) – пропа́л
- су́мка, ры́ба (она́) – пропа́ла
- очки́, ключи́ (они́) – пропа́ли
- нет + many: очко́в нет, ключе́й нет (like огурцо́в, рубле́й).
- появи́лся – say it as one piece for now.
ЛО́НДОН – the stress is on the first syllable, as in English. But Russians say a real, round о: LON-d’n, not LUN-dun. The second о comes after the stress, so it is short and weak (like the a in sofa).
ТЕЛЕФО́Н – not like the English TEL-ih-fohn: the stress is on the last syllable: ti-li-FON (е without stress sounds like a short и). That is why we mark the stress.
🎯 Why does о sound like а?
English «I lost my keys» – I did it. Russian «У меня́ пропа́ли ключи́» – the keys did it, they just disappeared! 😄 Nobody is to blame.
очки́ are always plural – like English glasses, scissors, trousers. 🤓
🔬 Почему́ так · Why this way
- A game, not a rule. «У меня́ пропа́л но́сик» is Natasha's game for children and adults – the student plays it before seeing any rule; play keeps the words.
- The past again, in a new place. The ends of День 17 (-л -ла -ли) now follow the lost thing – the same pattern in a new situation: Rogers · Nakata · Chiu 2025.
- The «нет» for many comes back. очко́в, ключе́й work like огурцо́в, рубле́й (День 9–10).
- Hands on the face. Covering and showing the nose ties the words to a movement: Macedonia · Knösche 2011.
- The cat makes the mistakes. The student laughs and is never the one who is wrong.
