День 28 из 32: Ку́рочка Ря́ба
📚 Слова́ дня · Words of the day: 3 – ку́рочка, яйцо́, разби́ть.
🗣️ Глаго́л дня · Verb of the day: бить – разби́ть · «Дед бил-бил 〰️ – не разби́л ✅»
⏱ Part 1 = 15 minutes – everybody finishes it. Part 2 = more, only if you want. · 🗺️ All days
Stand up! Your homework from День 27 – open the fridge: «Где сыр?» – «Съе́лся!» 😄 – and honestly: «Я съел(а)!» ✅
You remembered it – that is your first win today. Today a second fairy tale – with a golden egg. 🥚✨
- Don't read anything yet. Listen: what kind of egg is it? Who breaks it in the end? 👂
- Knock with your fist again and again 〰️ on бил-бил – stop and open your hands ✅ on разби́лось.
Say every word aloud and show it – the gesture is under the picture. Tap a word or its picture – the dictionary opens. 🔊 = listen.
- яи́чко – a little egg (in the tale) · золото́е – golden · просто́е – simple, ordinary.
- бил-бил – he hit it and hit it 〰️ (doing, again and again) · не разби́л – didn't break it ✅ (no result!).
- разби́лось – it broke (by itself, like «съе́лся» – the -сь means itself). 🥚💥
👂 Listen first. Knock 〰️ on «бил», open your hands ✅ on «разби́л».
Сли́нки (sits on the new egg like a hen): … 😌
🌱 The seed of the day: you can say «бил-бил» – doing goes on and on 〰️. You can't say «разби́л-разби́л» – a thing breaks only once ✅. That is how a Russian feels the two brothers.
Say every line aloud – knock, then open your hands. 〰️ ✅
Жи́ли-бы́ли дед да ба́ба.
Была́ у них ку́рочка Ря́ба.
Дед бил-бил – не разби́л. 〰️
Ба́ба била́-била́ – не разби́ла. 〰️
Мы́шка бежа́ла, хво́стиком махну́ла – яи́чко упа́ло и разби́лось! ✅
- Knock on the table with your fist: «Я бью… бью…» 〰️ – «Не разби́л(а)!»
- Tell someone the start of the tale: «Жи́ли-бы́ли дед да ба́ба…»
- Ask: «Кто разби́л яйцо́?» – «Мы́шка!» 🐭
- Speaking is optional – listening and doing count too.
Can you say it without looking? – Молоде́ц! Go to the tap quiz.
Guess, then tap. Again and again 〰️ – or once, with a result ✅? A wrong tap is a guess. 😊
Хорошо́! Молоде́ц! Two small things left – two minutes.
One egg – many eggs: the loud syllable jumps! яйцо́ – я́йца.
- яйцО́ 👏 (one, loud at the end) – Я́йца 👏 (many, loud at the start).
- The same in окно́ – о́кна, письмо́ – пи́сьма.
- 30 seconds, every day.
Tomorrow, knock with your fist: «Дед бил-бил – не разби́л!» 〰️ – and open your hands: «Мы́шка махну́ла – яи́чко разби́лось!» ✅
That is the first minute of День 29. You already know it – so День 29 starts with a win.
- Play the tale. A hen, a дед, a ба́ба and a мы́шка. Use a ball as the egg. Дед: «бил-бил – не разби́л!» – the mouse waves her tail, the ball rolls away: «Разби́лось!» 😄
- Again or once? «бил-бил» → knock knock knock 〰️ · «разби́л!» → hands open, one time ✅.
- Gold or simple? Show a coin: «золото́е!» ✨ – a pebble: «просто́е!»
Ryaba the Hen – the whole tale with a video. Count how many times you hear «бил».
Today's tale. Tap the title – the page opens; the bar at its top brings you back here.
All that glitters is not gold.
The golden egg was beautiful – but nobody could eat it! The simple egg is better. 🥚 🤸 Gesture: wiggle your fingers like sparkles ✨, then shake your head on «не всё».
Read every line aloud, slowly. Every word is one you know – or one from the tale. Tap a word to check. ✋
🙌 Today's words: КУ́РОЧКА · ЯЙЦО́ · РАЗБИ́Л · ЗОЛОТО́Е
У де́да и ба́бы есть ку́рочка Ря́ба.
Ку́рочка снесла́ яйцо́ – золото́е! ✨
Дед бил-бил – не разби́л. 〰️
Мы́шка махну́ла хво́стиком – яйцо́ разби́лось! ✅
зо́лото → золото́й – golden ✨ · ку́рица → ку́рочка – a little hen, цыплёнок – a chick 🐣
Just look and smile – you don't have to learn these now. 😊
Once upon a time there lived a grandad and a granny. They had a hen called Ryaba. The hen laid an egg – not an ordinary one, a golden one. Grandad hit it and hit it – he didn't break it. Granny hit it and hit it – she didn't break it. A mouse ran past, waved her little tail, the egg fell and broke. – Grandad broke-broke it! (Scuffles's mistake) – No, Scuffles! Grandad hit and hit it – and didn't break it. You did it – with your tail! – Grrr… Grandad cries, Granny cries. – Don't cry, Grandad! Don't cry, Granny! I'll lay you an ordinary egg!
- бить 〰️ (impf) – hit, again and again: бил-бил.
- разби́ть ✅ (pf) – break it, once, with a result: разби́л, разби́ла.
- A pf verb is not repeated: «разби́л-разби́л» is wrong – «бил-бил» is right.
- разби́лось – it broke (itself), like «съе́лся».
ЛО́НДОН – the stress is on the first syllable, as in English. But Russians say a real, round о: LON-d’n, not LUN-dun. The second о comes after the stress, so it is short and weak (like the a in sofa).
ТЕЛЕФО́Н – not like the English TEL-ih-fohn: the stress is on the last syllable: ti-li-FON (е without stress sounds like a short и). That is why we mark the stress.
🎯 Why does о sound like а?
Hit – break. English has two different words; Russian builds the second from the first: бить → разби́ть. The piece раз- often means «into pieces». 💥
Why do grandad and granny cry when they couldn't break the egg anyway? Russian children ask it, and grown-ups still joke about it. 😄
🔬 Почему́ так · Why this way
- A second tale with the same secret. «бил-бил – не разби́л» shows in one line what the rule of День 26 says; the tale gives it a picture.
- A clear test. Doubling works only with impf (бил-бил, тя́нут-потя́нут) – an easy way for the learner to feel which brother is which.
- Traditional texts. Folk tales are known by every Russian, so the learner shares the same stories as a Russian child.
- The cat makes the mistakes. The student laughs and is never the one who is wrong.
