Ἡ γέννησίς σου Χριστὲ ὁ Θεὸς ἡμῶν,
ἀνέτειλε τῷ κόσμῳ,
τὸ φῶς τὸ τῆς γνώσεως·
ἐν αὐτῇ γὰρ οἱ τοῖς ἄστροις λατρεύοντες,
ὑπὸ ἀστέρος ἐδιδάσκοντο,
σὲ προσκυνεῖν,
τὸν Ἥλιον τῆς δικαιοσύνης,
καὶ σὲ γινώσκειν ἐξ ὕψους ἀνατολήν,
Κύριεδόξα σοι.
Troparion - Tone 4
Has shone upon the world with the light of knowledge:
For thereby they who adored the stars,
Through a star were taught
To worship Thee, the Sun of Righteousness,
And to know Thee the Dayspring from on high.
O Lord, glory to Thee.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. Now and for ever world without end. Amen.

And the earth offers a cave to the Unapproachable One!
Angels with shepherds glorify Him!
The wise men journey with a star!
