👂 Listen first. Pour with your hand: in · out · across · all over.

  • Ната́ша: Я налива́ю во́ду в ва́зу… Налила́! 🫗 Я ста́влю цветы́ в ва́зу. 💐
  • Ри́чард: Я перелива́ю во́ду… Перели́л! Ой! Я разли́л во́ду! 💦 📒

  • Ска́ффлз: (by Slinky's bowl, with a little milk jug) Я вы́лила молоко́ в ми́ску!
  • Ната́ша: Нет! В ми́ску – ты налила́. Вы́лила – из ми́ски.
  • Ска́ффлз: (knocks the bowl over) А тепе́рь я разлила́ молоко́! 😹 – Сли́нки: (licking it up) Мя́у!

🌱 The seed of the day: the prefix and the little word again (День 18–21): на- + в стака́н · вы- + из ва́зы · пере- + в другу́ю ва́зу · раз- + на стол.

🔁 Повторя́йте · Repeat

Say every line aloud and pour (water or air 😄).

Я налива́ю во́ду в стака́н. Нали́л / Налила́! 🫗
Я вылива́ю во́ду из стака́на. Вы́лил / Вы́лила! ⬇️
Я перелива́ю во́ду. Перели́л / Перелила́! 🌈
Ой! Я разли́л / разлила́ во́ду! 💦

🗣️ Ва́ша о́чередь! · Your turn!
  • Pour yourself some water or tea: «Я налива́ю чай. Налила́ / Нали́л!» ☕

Хорошо́! Молоде́ц! Two small things left – two minutes.

🔊 Звук дня · Sound of the day: Ь before a vowel: лью, льёт

лью, льёшь, льёт, налью́ – the soft sign Ь makes Л soft and adds a little «й»: «лйу», «лйот». 💧

  • Say: лю – лью · лё – льё. Hear the little «й»?
  • Then: я лью, ты льёшь, он льёт – and Налью́! (I'll pour).
  • 30 seconds, every day. This is aerobics for the tongue.
🏠 Дома́шняя рабо́та · Homework – one small thing

Tomorrow is a review day. Tell one short story with three prefixes: «Я вошёл / вошла́ в ку́хню. Я нали́л / налила́ чай. Я вы́шел / вы́шла.» ☕🚪 And think about the riddle: what can you see with your eyes closed? 🤔
That is the first minute of День 24. You already know it – so День 24 starts with a win.

✔ Часть 1 гото́ва! Part 1 done.
You may stop here – see you tomorrow: День 24 · Приста́вки на свои́х места́х ▶
Часть 2 · Е́сли хоти́те · +25 мину́тPart 2 – only if you want more. Nothing here is needed for tomorrow.
🤸 Жестова́я игра́ · Gesture game
  1. The waiter game. One person is the waiter: «Вам нали́ть?» – the guest: «Да, нале́йте, пожа́луйста!» – the waiter pours (water, or air). 🍽️
  2. Prefix → hand. «На-!» tilt into a glass · «Вы-!» turn it upside down · «Пере-!» an arc · «Раз-!» hands all over. Faster and faster.
  3. Two glasses. Pour water from one glass into another and back, saying «перелива́ю… перели́л / перелила́!» – over a tray! 😄
🎬 Ви́део-уро́к · a video lesson

Natasha's own lesson with Richard: a jug, vases and flowers from the balcony – нали́ть, вы́лить, перели́ть, разли́ть… Richard spills, and an ant and a spider come to visit! The bar at its top brings you back here.

🦉 Посло́вица дня · proverb of the day · 👂 listen and read
Льёт как из ведра́.

It pours as if from a bucket.
It's raining cats and dogs! A saying about heavy rain – «льёт» is today's verb лить. 🌧️🪣 🤸 Gesture: turn a big bucket upside down over your head!

📖 Чита́йте са́ми · Read alone – guess, then tap

Read every line aloud, slowly. Every word is one you know. Tap a word to check. ✋

🙌 Today's words: НАЛИ́ТЬ · ВЫ́ЛИТЬ · ПЕРЕЛИ́ТЬ · РАЗЛИ́ТЬ · ВА́ЗА · ВОДА́
Ната́ша налила́ во́ду в ва́зу и поста́вила цветы́.
Ри́чард перели́л во́ду – и разли́л! 💦

Just look and smile – you don't have to learn these now. 😊

📖 Текст уро́ка · The text – open it only after you can say it without reading

Я налива́ю во́ду в ва́зу… Налила́! Я ста́влю цветы́ в ва́зу. – Я перелива́ю во́ду… Перели́л! Ой! Я разли́л во́ду! – Ри́чард, вы́лей во́ду из ва́зы! – Вы́лил! – Я вы́лила молоко́ в ми́ску! – Нет! В ми́ску – ты налила́. Вы́лила – из ми́ски. – А тепе́рь я разлила́ молоко́! – Мя́у!

I'm pouring water into the vase… Done! I'm putting the flowers into the vase. – I'm pouring the water into the other vase… Done! Oops! I've spilt the water! – Richard, pour the water out of the vase! – Done! – I've poured the milk «out» into the bowl! (Scuffles's mistake) – No! Into the bowl – you «налила́». «Вы́лила» – out of the bowl. – And now I've spilt the milk! – Miaow!

💡 Пра́вило · Rule
  • лить – я лью, ты льёшь, он льёт… · лил, лила́
  • ✅ pf: нали́ть (into) · вы́лить (out of) · перели́ть (into another) · разли́ть (all over, spill)
  • impf: налива́ть, вылива́ть, перелива́ть, разлива́ть (+ -ва-)
  • future: я налью́, ты нальёшь · command: Нале́й! Вы́лей!
  • Little words: на- + в · вы- + из · раз- + на
ударе́ние – словарь ударе́ние – stress – shows the syllable you say louder and longer, just like in English: LUN-dun (London), TEL-ih-fohn (telephone).

ЛО́НДОН – словарь ЛО́НДОН – the stress is on the first syllable, as in English. But Russians say a real, round о: LON-d’n, not LUN-dun. The second о comes after the stress, so it is short and weak (like the a in sofa).
ТЕЛЕФО́Н – словарь ТЕЛЕФО́Н – not like the English TEL-ih-fohn: the stress is on the last syllable: ti-li-FON (е without stress sounds like a short и). That is why we mark the stress.

The sign is only a help for learners. Russian books don't print it, and you don't write it.
🎯 Why does о sound like а?
😄 Для тех, кто говори́т по-англи́йски · For English speakers

«Тебе́ нали́ть?» – «Shall I pour you some?» – the first thing a Russian host says at the table. ☕ And when it rains very hard, Russians say «Льёт как из ведра́!» – English says «cats and dogs» 🐈🐕 – Russian says «a bucket». 🪣

🔬 Почему́ так · Why this way

  • Old prefixes, a new root. на-, вы-, пере-, раз- are known from День 17–21; today they work with лить – the prefix is seen as a tool, not a list.
  • Natasha's own lesson. Her video with the jug and vases is the lesson of the day.
  • Real water. Pouring while speaking ties the verb to a real movement: Macedonia · Knösche 2011.
  • The cat makes the mistakes. Scuffles «pours out» into the bowl – and then spills it. The student laughs and is never the one who is wrong.
