День 22 из 40: Вхожу́ – вошла́

🎬 The videos for Course 3 come after the videos for Courses 1 and 2. Until then every day works with the text, the pictures and the sound. Start now – the lesson is the same.

📚 Слова́ дня · Words of the day: 3 – войти́, приезжа́ть, прие́хать. (Old friends: all the prefixes of День 17–21.)

Часть 1 · Обяза́тельно · 15 мину́тPart 1 – everybody does this. 15 minutes.
🤸 Разми́нка · Warm-up (1 min)

Your homework from День 21: one «every day» and one «today, done» sentence:
«Ка́ждый день я прихожу́ домо́й ве́чером. 🔄 Сего́дня я пришёл / пришла́ ра́но.» ✅
You remembered it – that is your first win today. And you have already used today's rule! ✅

👀👂 Смотри́те и слу́шайте · Watch and listen
🔊 ВХОЖУ́ 〰️ → ВОШЛА́ ✅
  • Tap and listen. A long slow line: «вхожу́…» – a stamp: «вошла́!» – the gestures of Курс 2.
  • Where do the prefixed verbs come from? From the pairs of День 9–15 – and Natasha's rule tells you their aspect.
👋 Скажи́те и покажи́те · Say it and show it

Say every line aloud and show it. 🔄 non-directed + prefix → 〰️ impf · ➡️ directed + prefix → ✅ pf

🧩 в- + 🔄 ходи́ть
〰️ impf · я вхожу́
🧩 в- + ➡️ идти́
✅ pf · я войду́ · вошёл, вошла́
🧩 при- + 🔄 е́здить → -езжа́ть

👂 Listen first. 〰️ a long line on impf, ✅ a stamp on pf.

★ Natasha's rule for prefixes – 30 seconds. A pair of День 9–15 + a prefix = one aspect pair:

  • prefix + 🔄 non-directed (ходи́ть, е́здить) = impf 〰️ – doing, often
  • prefix + ➡️ directed (идти́, е́хать) = pf ✅ – done, once
〰️ impf (+ 🔄) ✅ pf (+ ➡️)
в- входи́ть войти́
вы- выходи́ть вы́йти
при- приходи́ть прийти́
у- уходи́ть уйти́
под- подходи́ть подойти́
пере- переходи́ть перейти́
при- 🚗 приезжа́ть прие́хать

идти́ → -йти́ · е́здить → -езжа́ть.
💡 Natasha's logic for the verbs of motion; every prefixed verb has this box on its dictionary page (tap входи́ть). Explanation: Natalia Brown, WikiTranslate.

🔁 Повторя́йте · Repeat

Say every line aloud: 〰️ a long line · ✅ a stamp.

Ка́ждый день я вхожу́. 〰️ Сего́дня я вошёл / вошла́. ✅
Ка́ждый день я выхожу́. 〰️ Сего́дня я вы́шел / вы́шла. ✅
Друг ча́сто приезжа́ет. 〰️ Вчера́ он прие́хал. ✅
Ска́ффлз вошла́ – и сы́ра нет! 😾

🗣️ Ва́ша о́чередь! · Your turn!
  • Go through a door twice: slowly – «Я вхожу́…» 〰️ – then a stamp – «Вошёл! / Вошла́!» ✅
  • Tell about every day and about today: «Ка́ждый день я ухожу́ в во́семь. Сего́дня я ушёл / ушла́ в де́вять.»
  • Who comes to visit you? «Ко мне ча́сто приезжа́ет…» – «Вчера́ прие́хал(а)…»
  • Speaking is optional – listening and doing count too.

Can you say it without looking? – Молоде́ц! Go to the tap quiz.

Guess, then tap. Every day / often 〰️ – or once, done ✅? 😊

1 〰️ Every day: Ка́ждый день я … в ко́мнату.

ВХОЖУ́
ВОЙДУ́
ВОШЛА́

2 ✅ Today, done: Сего́дня Ната́ша … в ко́мнату.

ВХО́ДИТ
ВОШЛА́
ВОШЁЛ

3 〰️ Often: Друг ча́сто … в Ло́ндон.

ПРИЕЗЖА́ЕТ
ПРИЕ́ХАЛ
ПРИЕ́ДЕТ

4 ✅ Yesterday, done: Вчера́ он …

ПРИЕЗЖА́ЕТ
ПРИЕ́ХАЛ
ПРИЕЗЖА́Ю

5 😾 Scuffles: «Я войду́ в ку́хню ка́ждый день!» How is it right?

КА́ЖДЫЙ ДЕНЬ Я ВХОЖУ́ В КУ́ХНЮ
КА́ЖДЫЙ ДЕНЬ Я ВОШЛА́ В КУ́ХНЮ
КА́ЖДЫЙ ДЕНЬ Я ВЫ́ЙДУ В КУ́ХНЮ

Хорошо́! Молоде́ц! Two small things left – two minutes.

🔊 Звук дня · Sound of the day: Й in войти́ and прийти́

войти́ – «вой-ти́»: Й is a short «и», like y in boy. 😊 прийти́ is written with Й too: «при-йти́» – you hear «при-йти́», two short sounds.

  • Say: ой – вой – вой-ти́ · при – прий – прий-ти́.
  • But пришёл – no Й: «при-шёл».
  • 30 seconds, every day. This is aerobics for the tongue.
🏠 Дома́шняя рабо́та · Homework – one small thing

Tomorrow you pour water: into a glass and out of it. Get a glass and a jug (or a bottle) ready. 🥛 And one sentence: «Сего́дня я вошёл / вошла́ в ку́хню.» ✅
That is the first minute of День 23. You already know it – so День 23 starts with a win.

✔ Часть 1 гото́ва! Part 1 done.
You may stop here – see you tomorrow: День 23 · Налива́ем! ▶
Часть 2 · Е́сли хоти́те · +25 мину́тPart 2 – only if you want more. Nothing here is needed for tomorrow.
🤸 Жестова́я игра́ · Gesture game
  1. 〰️ or ✅? Somebody says a prefixed verb – the others show a long line or a stamp: «входи́ть!» 〰️ · «войти́!» ✅ · «уезжа́ть!» 〰️ · «уе́хать!» ✅
  2. Build the verb. Hold up a prefix (в-, вы-, при-, у-) and then 🔄 or ➡️ with the hand – the others say the verb: в- + 🔄 = «входи́ть!» · в- + ➡️ = «войти́!»
  3. Doors. Walk through a door slowly – «вхожу́…» – the others stamp when you are in: «Вошла́! / Вошёл!»
🦉 Посло́вица дня · proverb of the day · 👂 listen and read
Пришёл, уви́дел, победи́л.

I came, I saw, I conquered.
Julius Caesar's famous words, in Russian. Three ✅ pf verbs – done, done, done! пришёл: при- + идти́ = pf. 🤸 Gesture: three stamps of the fist, one on each word.

🙌 Today's words:

прие́зд – arrival · отъе́зд – departure (on the station boards) 🚆

Just look and smile – you don't have to learn these now. 😊

📖 Текст уро́ка · The text – open it only after you can say it without reading

Every day I come into the room quietly… Today I came in – and there was Scuffles on the table! – My friend often comes to London. Yesterday he arrived! – I will go into the kitchen every day! (Scuffles's mistake: pf for «every day») – Every day – «вхо́дишь». «Войду́» – once. – All right. Every day I go into the kitchen. And today I went in… and there's no cheese! – Miaow.

💡 Пра́вило · Rule
  • ★ prefix + 🔄 (ходи́ть, е́здить) = impf 〰️ · prefix + ➡️ (идти́, е́хать) = pf ✅
  • идти́ → -йти́: войти́, вы́йти, прийти́, уйти́, подойти́, перейти́ · е́здить → -езжа́ть: приезжа́ть, уезжа́ть
  • войти́: я войду́, ты войдёшь · вошёл, вошла́, вошли́
  • прие́хать: я прие́ду · прие́хал, прие́хала · приезжа́ть: я приезжа́ю
  • вы́- is stressed in pf: вы́йти, вы́шел – not in impf: выходи́ть
ударе́ние – словарь ударе́ние – stress – shows the syllable you say louder and longer, just like in English: LUN-dun (London), TEL-ih-fohn (telephone).

ЛО́НДОН – словарь ЛО́НДОН – the stress is on the first syllable, as in English. But Russians say a real, round о: LON-d’n, not LUN-dun. The second о comes after the stress, so it is short and weak (like the a in sofa).
ТЕЛЕФО́Н – словарь ТЕЛЕФО́Н – not like the English TEL-ih-fohn: the stress is on the last syllable: ti-li-FON (е without stress sounds like a short и). That is why we mark the stress.

The sign is only a help for learners. Russian books don't print it, and you don't write it.
🎯 Why does о sound like а?
😄 Для тех, кто говори́т по-англи́йски · For English speakers

Without a prefix you need two verbs to say «go» (идти́ / ходи́ть) – and a third for «done» (пойти́). With a prefix, the same two verbs become the impf / pf pair: входи́ть / войти́. Russian is a system – once you see it, it's logical! 🧩

🔬 Почему́ так · Why this way

  • The rule after five days of examples. The prefixed verbs were met on День 18–21; the ★ box joins them with the ➡️ / 🔄 pairs of День 9–15 – rule after experience.
  • Natasha's logic. Her table of the verbs of motion leads straight to the prefixed pairs; the same box is on every prefixed verb page in the dictionary.
  • The Курс 2 gestures come back. 〰️ impf and ✅ pf – the same hands for a new system: Macedonia · Knösche 2011.
  • The cat makes the mistakes. Scuffles will «go in once» every day. The student laughs and is never the one who is wrong.
