День 12 из 24: Па́льцы
📚 Слова́ дня · Words of the day: 4 – па́лец, кольцо́, ско́лько, мизи́нец.
🗣️ Глаго́л дня · Verb of the day: счита́ть – я счита́ю, вы счита́ете → Счита́йте! · Count!
⏱ Часть 1 = 15 мину́т – её конча́ют все. Часть 2 – е́сли хоти́те. · Part 1 = 15 minutes – everybody finishes it. Part 2 = more, only if you want. · 🗺️ Все дни · All days
Вста́ньте! Дома́шняя рабо́та из Дня 11: · your homework from День 11: count your fingers aloud – «Оди́н, два, три… де́сять!» ✋✋ Is the ring on your finger? «Кольцо́ на па́льце!» 💍
Вы э́то уже́ уме́ете – э́то ва́ша пе́рвая побе́да сего́дня. ✅ · You can already do it – your first win today.
- Не чита́йте пока́ – смотри́те и счита́йте. · Don’t read yet – watch and count with Natasha.
- Show the fingers as you count. Listen: па́лец – па́льца – па́льцев – the end changes with the number. 👂
Скажи́те ка́ждое сло́во вслух и покажи́те его́. · Say every word aloud and show it – the gesture is under it. Tap a word – listen.
The five fingers have names: большо́й (big – the thumb) · указа́тельный (the one that points) · сре́дний (middle) · безымя́нный («without a name» – the ring finger!) · мизи́нец (the little one). ✋
👂 Снача́ла слу́шайте. · Listen first. Count with them on your fingers: ✋✋
One – two – five – 30 seconds
| па́лец · finger | мину́та · День 3 | |
|---|---|---|
| 1 · 21 · 31 | оди́н па́лец | одна́ мину́та |
| 2, 3, 4 | два па́льца | две мину́ты |
| 5 … 20 | пять па́льцев | пять мину́т |
The same pattern for every noun: 1 · 2–4 · 5–20. Remember Scuffles on День 3: «пятна́дцать мину́ты» – no, мину́т!
🌱 The seed of the day: count on your fingers – and the case comes with the number. 1 · 2–4 · 5 and more: three forms for every noun. Your fingers are numbers you always carry.
Скажи́те ка́ждую строку́ вслух – и сде́лайте. · Say every line aloud – and do it.
Оди́н па́лец. ☝️
Два па́льца, три па́льца, четы́ре па́льца. ✌️
Пять па́льцев – одна́ рука́. ✋
Де́сять па́льцев – две руки́. 🙌
Кольцо́ на па́льце – с па́льца на па́лец! 💍
- Show 1 to 10 fingers – someone says it: «Три па́льца!» «Семь па́льцев!»
- Ask: «Ско́лько па́льцев?» – and show a number. 🤔
- Move the ring from finger to finger: «С пе́рвого на второ́й, со второ́го на тре́тий…» 💍
- Говори́ть – не обяза́тельно. · Speaking is optional – listening and doing count too.
Мо́жете без ви́део? · Can you do it without the video? – Молоде́ц! ✔
Угада́йте – пото́м нажми́те. · Guess, then tap. A wrong tap is not a mistake – it is a guess. 😊
Хорошо́! Молоде́ц! · Two small things left – two minutes.
- ПА́ЛЕЦ – Л is soft before Е: «па́л'ец». In па́льцы the Ь keeps Л soft: «па́л'цы». · Л мя́гкий.
- Ц is always hard: па́льцы sounds «па́льцы» – never «ци». And па́льцев sounds «па́льцыф».
- The stress never moves here – clap: ПА́-лец 👏 · ПА́ЛЬ-цы 👏 · ПА́ЛЬ-цев 👏. 30 секу́нд ка́ждый день. · 30 seconds every day.
Скажи́те вслух, на каки́х языка́х вы говори́те: «Я говорю́ по-ру́сски и по-…» – и ваш язы́к! 🌍 · Say aloud which languages you speak: «Я говорю́ по-ру́сски и по-…» – and your own language. Tomorrow: the aerobics in other languages.
Э́то пе́рвая мину́та Дня 13. · That is the first minute of День 13 – so it starts with a win.
Мо́жно зако́нчить здесь – до за́втра! · You may stop here – see you tomorrow: День 13 · Аэро́бика на ва́шем языке́ ▶
- Ско́лько па́льцев? Hide your hands, then show some fingers for one second – the others say: «Три па́льца!» «Семь па́льцев!» ✋
- Кольцо́ идёт. A ring goes from finger to finger and from person to person: «С па́льца на па́лец!» Who drops it says the five finger names. 💍
- Соро́ка. The old finger game from Natasha's lesson Па́льцы 2: touch one finger after the other – «э́тому дала́, э́тому дала́… а э́тому не дала́!» – the little finger gets nothing. 😄
Remembering a word with the whole body works better than reading it again.
To know something like your own five fingers – like the back of your hand.
«Я зна́ю э́тот уро́к как свои́ пять па́льцев!» A погово́рка (День 6) is a piece of a sentence, not a whole lesson. And «пять па́льцев» is the form you learned today! 🤸 Gesture: spread five fingers and look at them, proudly.
Па́льцы 1 – today's video: count to 21 with Natasha – па́лец, па́льца, па́льцев. Па́льцы 2 – a ring from finger to finger, the names of the fingers and the old finger game «Соро́ка». · Сего́дня – Па́льцы 1. Па́льцы 2 – когда́ хоти́те.
- Счита́йте на па́льцах – всегда́. · Always count on the fingers. Fingers are numbers that every student carries.
- Оди́н шабло́н – мно́го слов. · One pattern, many words. 1 · 2–4 · 5+: come back to it with every new noun – мину́та, па́лец, день, ко́шка.
- Вещь пока́зывает движе́ние. · A thing shows the movement. A ring на па́лец (onto) and на па́льце (where) – like the pen on День 9.
- 🌍 На ва́шем языке́: count the fingers in your language. Does the noun change after a number? English: one finger – two fingers, two forms. Arabic has a special form just for two. How many forms has your language?
Прочита́йте ка́ждую строку́ вслух, ме́дленно. · Read every line aloud, slowly. Tap a word to check. ✋
✋ Today's words: ПА́ЛЕЦ · КОЛЬЦО́ · СКО́ЛЬКО · МИЗИ́НЕЦ
Ско́лько па́льцев на руке́? – Пять па́льцев.
На двух рука́х – де́сять па́льцев.
Кольцо́ на безымя́нном па́льце. 💍
Ска́ффлз говори́т: «пять па́льцы» – нет, пять па́льцев! 😼
У ко́шки восемна́дцать па́льцев. 🐾
кольцо́ – a ring · колесо́ – a wheel · о́коло – near, «in the circle round»: all from an old word for a circle ⭕
Just look and smile – you don't have to learn these now. 😊
Scuffles, how many toes have you got? – I've got five «па́льцы»! (Scuffles's mistake) – Five «па́льцев». One finger, two fingers, five fingers. – And not five, Scuffles! A cat has five toes on each front paw and four on each back paw. – Five and five is ten… four and four is eight… Eighteen toes! – Miaow! – Well done, Scuffles: eighteen «па́льцев» is right! And us? Count!
- 1, 21, 31: оди́н па́лец · 2, 3, 4: два па́льца ]→ · 5–20: пять па́льцев ]→
- The same for every noun: одна́ мину́та · две мину́ты · пять мину́т (День 3).
- A ring на па́лец →[ (onto) – на па́льце [●] (where) – с па́льца на па́лец (from one onto the other).
- безымя́нный па́лец – the ring finger, «without a name».
ЛО́НДОН – the stress is on the first syllable, as in English. But Russians say a real, round о: LON-d’n, not LUN-dun. The second о comes after the stress, so it is short and weak (like the a in sofa).
ТЕЛЕФО́Н – not like the English TEL-ih-fohn: the stress is on the last syllable: ti-li-FON (е without stress sounds like a short и). That is why we mark the stress.
🎯 Why does о sound like а?
English: one finger, two fingers – done. Russian needs three forms: па́лец, па́льца, па́льцев. And the ring finger has no name at all – безымя́нный! English named it after the ring. 💍😄
🔬 Почему́ так · Why this way
- Fingers and numbers. People in many cultures think of numbers with their fingers – the hand is a natural counting tool: Domahs et al. 2010.
- One pattern, again and again. A pattern met with many words (мину́та, па́лец…) slowly becomes automatic: Ellis 2002, frequency in language learning.
- A thing that shows the case. The ring «onto» and «on» the finger works like the pen on День 9: Engelkamp · Krumnacker 1980.
- The cat makes the mistake. Scuffles says «пять па́льцы» – the student laughs and is never the one who is wrong.
