пригото́вить (День 30) and съесть (День 27) – two pf brothers in one riddle!
«〰️ и́ли ✅?» – a game for the whole family.
- Two brothers. Somebody says the impf – «чита́ть!» – everybody stamps and says the pf: «Прочита́ть!» (де́лать, писа́ть, есть, тяну́ть, бить, гото́вить, говори́ть). ✅
- Scuffles's mix-up. Somebody says a wrong sentence on purpose: «Сейча́с я напишу́!» · «Дед разби́л-разби́л!» – everybody: «Нет, Ска́ффлз!» and says it right. 😄
- The tales. Act the Turnip and the Hen once more – 〰️ on «тя́нут» and «бил», ✅ on «вы́тянули» and «разби́лось».

ударе́ние – stress – shows the syllable you say louder and longer, just like in English: LUN-dun (London), TEL-ih-fohn (telephone).
ЛО́НДОН – the stress is on the first syllable, as in English. But Russians say a real, round о: LON-d’n, not LUN-dun. The second о comes after the stress, so it is short and weak (like the a in sofa).
ТЕЛЕФО́Н – not like the English TEL-ih-fohn: the stress is on the last syllable: ti-li-FON (е without stress sounds like a short и). That is why we mark the stress.
🎯 Why does о sound like а?
Doing or done is the heart of the Russian verb – many learners need years to feel it. You have the two gestures 〰️ ✅ – use them every time you are not sure. 😄

- A review day with no new words. Words met again after a gap of a few days are remembered much better than words met many times in one go – Rogers · Nakata · Chiu 2025.
- Remember first, then check. Reading seven days' words alone, then tapping to check, is retrieval practice – Agarwal · Nunes · Blunt 2021.
- A riddle at the end. Guessing before the answer – even wrongly – helps the answer stay (Kornell, Hays · Bjork 2009, the pretesting effect).
- The same five promises. The check uses the words of День 1 – the learner sees that every promise was kept.
- The cat makes the mistakes. The student laughs and is never the one who is wrong.
