Don't turn the subtitles on at first and don't get annoyed with yourself.
Listen carefully and repeat aloud when you can.

Учительница: Turn subtitles on only after you have done at least the first three exercises. You can turn them on only after what you hear, what you do and what you say makes some sense to you. You must learn the way you ought to pronounce the text to start with, and only then you can go back to the very beginning and read the subtitles.

Ученик: Some of the English subtitles are so inaccurate. I noticed that in the word "правая" is translated as "law" towards the end of the video, this confused me as it did not appear to correspond to anything.

Учительница: You have not finished the first three exercises yet, but you have turned the subtitles on! I repeat: using translation toolsmost machine translations are faulty, so you can trust them only up to a point. Try to translate any text into Russian and then back into English and see what you will get. I myself can speak and write English, but I can't translate. All I can do is to teach you how to speak and think (a tiny bit) in Russian.

Ученик: I can't think in Russian yet.

Учительница: Then don't think at all (that is what I mostly do), just repeat the words. Make sure that your mouth pronounces the sounds and only after you have made yourself familiar with the new words, look at the Russian subtitles. Don't turn on the English subtitles at all if they confuse you. You will learn better without them.

Feel the "in-ness" and "on-ness", this feeling should become second nature to you. Mentally connect this change with the "in-ness" and "on-ness" of your hand/hands.

Can you imagine yourself being a Russian, can you feel the case, just a little bit? Try to mix the simple naming of your hand/hands with the expressing of the "in-ness" and "on-ness" of it/them. Can you distinguish these two concepts?

If you are having any difficulty about what to say when you need to use the instrumental case, wave that hand a bit. You don't have to know about genitive case for negation now, but I could not help it. It was slip of the tongue! We Russians always use the genitive case just to say that the thing what should/could/might be there isn't there. I use genitive singular "ручки" (no any pen) for the word "ручка" (pen), just to tell you that I don't have the pen in my left hand.

Nominative plural for "pу́ка – pу́ки" (more then one hand)
Genitive singular for "pу́ка – pуки́" (deriving from hand) is written the same, but sound different.

The meaning of the word "pуки" is connected with the way it is pronounced. Even though the word "pуки" appears to be written the same way, it can be pronounced differently, depending on its meaning. When you finish read "How did "Exercises with hands" feel".
