Draft 5 – LIVE since 23 October 2026 (night). Natalia's order: easiest first – things, colours, numbers, letters by ear (in parts), transport, clothes, house – then people, greetings, он/она → я → вы, verbs… The course climbs gradually, and it is only the beginning. 48 short steps of 1–5 lessons. Older drafts: history.

How the course is ordered

  • Sound and words first, letters second. Students listen, hear the difference, repeat – and only then, little by little, read (Natalia's direct method).
  • The most common words come first. Every lesson was measured against a list of the 50,000 most frequent words of spoken Russian (taken from film and TV subtitles – the Russian people actually hear). Example ranks: я 1, что 3, это 7, вы 13, да 14, нет 17, хорошо 41, хочу 73, привет 99, спасибо 64, мама 188, один 123, сколько 203 … but красный 2 327, кошка 5 474, суббота 10 834, буква 14 105, алфавит 35 115.
  • So the steps go: еда → цвета → красный, красная, красное → числа 1–10 → буквы по слуху → машина, поезд → одежда → дом → кто это? → школа → привет → он, она, я, вы → verbs → где? → семья → у меня есть → тело → … (Natalia, 23 Oct 2026).
  • Letters come at step 5 – by ear, in parts (а, б, в, г – повторите!), nobody reads yet; reading and writing wait for steps 38–39. Ты waits until step 28 – вы is always polite.
  • ★ = main lesson of the step (the first one). Inside a step: easier lessons first, the song at the end. 1–5 lessons per step.
  • Common % = how many of the lesson's different words are among the 1 000 most common spoken words (the higher, the easier). New = words not met in an earlier lesson. 🎬 = video. Blue = hidden lesson brought in.

🤸 Language Aerobics in the course

Language Aerobics is in four places: (1) the front page – everyone starts with Руки 1; (2) a 2-minute warm-up every day (steps 1–11: new clips from the video plan); (3) the grammar – each aerobics video comes exactly where the course needs it (cases in movement, slowly or done, prefixes); (4) the 🤸 Двигайся door with all aerobics, Логоритмика and finger games. Notes

  • Animal sounds (му-му, гав-гав, мяу) are rare in films but very easy to hear and repeat. Step 24 can move to right after step 10 (Кот – коты) if Natalia wants – her choice.
  • To write (missing A1 lessons): Как вас зовут? (step 3), У меня есть кот (step 7).
  • The measure is not perfect: names (Наташа, Майя, Серж) and the words of the lesson headers (ударение, учительница русского языка) are left out of the count.
